The Tsunami facing the Youth of the Nation
It's never been easy to be a teenager, but it's never been so hard to be a Christian teenager. From an emotionally bankrupt family life to enormous tidal waves of blatant in your face ungodliness, combined with typical teenage pressures; the battles a Christian teen must face in the new millennium are intense. Satan, the primary influencer and archenemy of God has successfully squelched God's hopes and dreams for many of his youth. His strategic attacks on the youth of the nation have been all too effective. When a teenager receives Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior, they must be prepared for a tsunami of ungodliness and pressures from the world culture of the 21rst century.

The -˜Central Front' on the war on youth is the battle zone of influence. The Bible calls Satan the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4). He is the primary influencer of the world system and culture of messages that are constantly being pushed and preached down the throats of today's youth. From the latest music artist, to movies and Television, to fashion trends and the mainstream media; today's youth are being constantly bombarded with messages orchestrated by the chief deceiver and influencer of the cosmos. In the popular cultural movie The Matrix, Morpheus explains to Neo that the world around him is filled with lies that were designed to control him and all humanity. The Bible tells us that like Neo we, too, live in a -˜Matrix' world filled with enticing lies designed to distract our youth from the truth and that are designed to keep them from being able to really live life the way God intended.
Unfortunately, in the battle of influence over America's youth it would seem that currently, Satan and the world system he inspires are winning the war of conquering the heart, soul and mind of our youth. As the level of intensity and pressures facing our youth is rising, studies are consistently showing that -˜Christian' Youth are getting less aggressive in getting strongly rooted in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Christian Youth today know the Bible less, read it less, pray less and stick with their faith less when they move on to the campus battlefield. Studies also show that -˜Christian Youth' views on major issues such as Abortion, Gay marriage and homosexuality, Jesus being the only way to heaven are continuing to look more like our culture rather than reflects the views of the Bible. Something must be done to wake up our youth and ignite a spiritual fire for them to get strongly rooted in foundation in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Beginning in the summer of 2005, I felt burdened by God to begin work on a project to effectively communicate Biblical truth in a unique way to the generation of the New Millennium. While still in college working on my Pastoral degree, I began work on what became a 33 chaptered devotional/inspirational book called, War With The World: The Teenage Battlefield.
War With The World: The Teenage Battlefield centers on the spiritual tug of war a Christian teen will go through following their decision to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. The heart of the book is to properly equip Christian teens with biblical truth in order to face the both teenage and spiritual issues that come with being a Christian teenager in the early 21rst Century, in a way that is down to earth and relevant. With 33 chapters, the book, written by a 25 year old Youth Pastor, brings the Bible alive to speak to this generation, along with using pop cultural references and personal illustrations to interconnect God's truth with this generation confronted with constant lies. War With The World: The Teenage Battlefield is a must for every teenager of the new millennium.
